Susan, Mom and Randy We had several great visits with Randy's mom, Mary Ridler. At first she didn't recognize Randy. She kept pointing to a photo of Randy taken about 13 years ago . . . and just couldn't believe he was her son. I guess with age, grey hair and a few wrinkles . . . he wasn't the same son she remembered. She looks fantastic, and seems to get around wonderfully. She's still not able to speak much more than "yes" or "no" since her stroke; but it's amazing at how well she can communicate. Her writing skills have improved to the point that as long as she has her little scratch pad . . . she's right in there with with the best of them.
Arkell Hall Arkell Hall . . . is the most stately convelescent/retirement home I've ever seen . . . this is Mom's home. It's filled with antiques and the grounds are manicured. She has a cozy little corner room, decorated with hundreds of family photos and dotted with her art projects. This is the life!
